How it works

How Tyler handles rodent control

  1. Inspect

Tyler checks the roofline, attic, garage, AC line penetrations, vents and foundation for droppings, runways and entry points.

  2. Remove

Inside the home, traps are placed where rodents travel, so they don't die inside walls. Outside, tamper-resistant bait stations are used where appropriate.

  3. Close entry points

Gaps around pipes, vents, garage doors and rooflines are sealed with rodent-proof materials where practical, and the rest are shown to you.

  4. Check back

Traps are checked and cleared until activity stops.

When it peaks in the Hill Country

Rodents look for shelter as nights cool in fall and winter, but roof rats stay active year-round in Comal County, drawn to pecan and fruit trees, bird feeders, pet food and dense vegetation against the house.

Towns we serve

Rodent control across all of Comal County, with same-day service 7 days a week.

FAQ

Rodent control questions

Do I have rats or mice?

Droppings tell you. Mouse droppings are about the size of a grain of rice; rat droppings are about half an inch or longer. Noise in the attic at night is most often roof rats.

Do you use poison inside the house?

Inside, Tyler relies mainly on traps so rodents don't die in walls and cause odors. Tamper-resistant bait stations are used outside where they're appropriate.

How did they get in?

A mouse can fit through a gap about the size of a dime and a rat through one about the size of a quarter. Common spots are roof returns, AC line penetrations, garage door corners and vents.

How long does it take?

Most homes see activity drop within a couple of weeks once traps are in and entry points are closed, with follow-up visits until it stops.
